I just checked my website and found I have not updated it in some time, like 10 years! The only excuse I can come up with is I was busy working, (I know it’s lame but that’s all I got). Now, since I retired last December, after practicing law for 50 years, I can’t use that excuse anymore. So, I guess I will either have to come up with a new excuse or fill anyone who visits my website what happened to me in the interim. So, here’s some of the highlights.
I finished three books, 60th& Haverford, Overbrook Farms, and University City. That reminds me I have to revise my bio, University City is my 7th book, not my 6th. My wife and I celebrated our 55th anniversary. I can’t believe she could tolerate me for that period of time! We were blessed with a granddaughter – Olivia, who will turn three this December 31st!
If you haven’t had a chance to read the books I referred to above, and based on my sales there are many of you, like all my previous novels, they are Philadelphia-centric murder/mystery/thrillers. The books feature Philadelphia Detective Frank Benson and Sergeant Ophelia Brown Thurman, who met as trainees at the Police Academy, and for a variety of circumstances find themselves working together and solving the crimes.
Those of you who have followed my books know I have encountered many tech, and social media challenges in my attempts to attract a following. For example, before I published my first novel I was unaware there is more than one author named Neal Goldstein. I write murder/mystery/thrillers, the other one, writes the Dummies books, and Germ Theory books. (Or perhaps the Germ books were written by yet another Neal Goldstein.) I tried to research the other, far more successful author(s). When I googled the Dummies author I found someone named Dan Gookin wrote them, or at least some of them. My research also found that Doctor Ruth wrote one of the Dummies books too!
Anyway, I find this all so confusing. Some of my books show up when people search for Dummies books, and vice versa. So if you stumble upon a Dummies book, or a Germ Theory book when you’re searching for one of my novels, beware. At this point I’m pretty sure I’m not Doctor Ruth, since she passed away in July, may she rest in peace.
