Overbrook Farms is the second book in the Frank Benson and Ophelia Brown Thurman Mystery Series. It opens with the rescue of a widow and her eight year old daughter who were being held hostage by a gang of criminals in Venezuela by Charles Hunter, a former U.S. Re-Con Marine, working as a private contractor with an international security outfit.
Minutes after Hunter hits the ground, he discovers the mission is not what he was told. Instead of rescuing the hostages, the operatives were sent to kill them. Why would anyone want to kill a young widow and an innocent child? Before the rest of the team can stop him, Hunter saves the child. He promises to reunite he with her family.
In order to keep his promise, and keep the child safe, Hunter takes them to a property he inherited in Overbrook Farms, a neighborhood on the western border of Philadelphia, where he meets Ophelia and Benson, two veteran members of the Philadelphia Police force, who help him solve the mystery.
